: The creation of the Jorge Volio Jimenez Bilingual High School responds to the need to ensure a complete education and academic excellence to students in the context of the values of justice, freedom, tolerance, responsibility, communication and love. It is an institution that uses modern teaching strategies focused on personalized attention, and considers the student as responsible for their own teaching-learning process. This seeks to give them the tools to achieve spiritual growth, and become able to respond creatively to the demands of a complex and rapidly changing environment.
For this, it is necessary to develop research attitudes and of constant search of knowledge. Its aim is to form responsible citizens, educated and active, committed to the sustained development of the world and our country. In this task the Institution integrates parents actively as responsible, next to the school, for the formation of their children.
Since its founding in 1993, the Jorge Volio Jiménez Bilingual High School pretends to be a pioneer in the task of providing quality education, that gives each member of our community the most innovative educational alternatives in its basic and continuing training.
What makes us different from others?
Education of the cooperative model: the cooperative model is taught in an experiential way.
Differentiated English Curriculum: Grammar, Reading and Listening and Speaking, for beginners, intermediate and advanced students in 12 lessons per week. Additional TOEIC Certificate, by the Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano.
Differentiation in Computer Science: systems education model used in the labor market, databases, spreadsheets, programming, web page design, etc..
Academic plans with high standards of quality: MEP based curriculum enriched according to the needs and occupational projections.
Highly qualified teachers: Teachers qualified and endorsed by the MEP.
Clubs supplementary training to the curriculum: These clubs promote creativity and talent development in an atmosphere of enjoyment: gymnastics, basketball, crafts, soccer, among others.
